Sugeng Pariono Beaten to Death in Southwest Edmonton; Suspect Charged with Second-Degree Murder

On June 18, 2025, around 1 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person near 121 Street and 35 Avenue SW. When police arrived, they found a 27-year-old man acting strangely.

During their investigation, officers discovered the body of an adult man in a nearby garage.

The 27-year-old was arrested at the scene, and the EPS Homicide Section took over the investigation.

An autopsy conducted on Thursday, June 19, confirmed that the victim, identified as 65-year-old Sugeng Pariono, died from blunt force trauma. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police have charged Oleksii Iskra, the man arrested at the scene, with second-degree murder. Investigators say there was no known connection between him and the victim.
