Montreal police are looking into what they say appears to be a murder-suicide that took place October 3rd
Montreal police responded to 911 reports of gunshots inside a bar near the intersection of Laval and Mont-Royal avenues on October 3rd, around 11 p.m.
Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture said several people were seen fleeing the establishment when officers arrived. Upon entering, police discovered two men, one in his 30s, the other in his 40s, both suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe the victim of the homicide was about 40 years old, while the man believed to have taken his own life was the 30-year-old.
Investigators are still piecing together what happened but have confirmed that the incident is being treated as a murder-suicide.
At this point in the investigation, police say there is no evidence linking the incident to organized crime.
