Southeast District RCMP responded to a report of an inmate assault in the evening of October 26th at the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre in Shediac.

Police said 33-year-old Michael Matchett was badly injured and taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries on November 3rd.

New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is treating the death as a homicide.

Michael Fallon, 20,  is charged with second degree murder in the death of 33-year-old Michael Adam Matchett.
