Peel Regional Police received a 911 call advising of gunshots in the area of Battleford Road and Glen Erin Drive in the City of Mississauga on January 3rd at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a male suffering from gunshot wounds. This male was transported to a local trauma centre where he later succumbed to his injuries. He has identified as Mississauga resident Shawn Murphy, 26.

Investigators said the shooting occurred on the roadway on Battleford Road east of Glen Erin Drive during the rush hour period. Two suspects, described as males, were seen fleeing the area on foot.
