Police said that a City of Oshawa employee driving on Stevenson Road North just south of Raglan Road West in north Oshawa noticed a body of a deceased male at the side of the road.

Police and paramedics arrived to find the body of Jason John Brown, 43, with obvious signs of trauma. Police are not releasing the cause of death at this time.

Update On November 8th, 2023, OPP with the assistance of the Edmonton Police Service, arrested 32-year-old Joshua Alexander Drumond on a Canada-wide warrant. Police also charged 33-year-old Steven Jon Walsom-Gerigs of Brantford with first degree murder and kidnapping.

Ontario Provincial Police announced on June 20th, 2024, that Travis Willard Wand, 30, of Wellington North has been charged with first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a weapon, kidnapping and several other offenses.
