The 2025 Alberta Homicide Victim List is available here

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a homicide that occurred in north central Edmonton on the morning of June 11, 2025.

Officers responded to a weapons call around 7:20 a.m. at a residence near 81 Street and 114 Avenue. They found 27-year-old Morgan Cherish Taryn Giroux, who was taken to hospital but later died from her injuries.

A female youth was taken into custody at the scene but was later released. On June 12, the Medical Examiner confirmed that Giroux died from a stab wound, and her death has been ruled a homicide. The EPS Homicide Section is continuing its investigation, and police are not currently seeking any suspects.
