On June 11, 2025, around 3:45 p.m., frontline officers from the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) responded to reports of a shooting in the 15900 block of 84 Avenue in Surrey.

When officers arrived, they found a man with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he died at the scene.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken over the case, marking Surrey’s third homicide of the year.

The investigation is still in its early stages, with IHIT working closely alongside Surrey Police Service and SPOSU officers to carry out key investigative steps.

Although the motive remains unclear, police say the incident does not seem to be connected to any ongoing investigations.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
