Durham Regional Police Homicide Unit investigating the death of a 94-year-old woman in Whitby

Durham Regional police homicide unit was contacted by the coroner’s office after a 94-year-old female died in hospital on January 17th.

Police said the investigation revealed that the female victim was involved in an incident with another elderly resident at a long-term care home located at 80 Glen Hill Drive in Whitby. The incident caused the victim to fall to the ground. She was transported to hospital where she has since succumbed to her injuries.

Police said Investigators are in the process of consulting with the Crown Attorney’s office to determine if charges will be laid.
