Doreen Oseemeemow charged with the murder of a man in Big Island Cree Territory

Pierceland RCMP received a report of a serious assault that occurred at a residence on Big Island Lake Cree Territory, Saskatchewan on January 2, 2024 at approximately 11:02 p.m.

He was brought to hospital on January 18th with serious injuries.

On February 14th RCMP said the victim had succumbed to his injuries, and the case is now being treated as a homicide.

As a result of the investigation Doreen Oseemeemow, 35, of Big Island Cree Territory has been charged with one count of second-degree murder. Her previous charges of aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, have been withdrawn.
