The 2025 Alberta Homicide Victim List is available here

The Alberta RCMP is investigating a suspicious death after a body was discovered near the Village of Boyle on February 26.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the case following an autopsy, which confirmed the death was a homicide, and the victim has been identified as 31-year-old Connor Hayden Reese.

Investigators believe the victim was in Fort McMurray earlier that day and are requesting video footage from the Lakewood and Eagle Ridge areas.

Police have located a truck in connection with the incident and are asking for any security or dash camera footage containing sightings of it.

Anyone with information or relevant footage from between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on February 26 is encouraged to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4000.
