14-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder in Connection to the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old man in Long Plain First Nation Manitoba

Long Plain Detachment of the Manitoba First Nations Police Service said a 26-year-old man from Long Plain First Nation was brought to the Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) detachment after being stabbed February 24, 2025, at 6:45 pm

According to the RCMP, the victim had been confronted by a 14-year-old boy over stolen property when the boy, after exiting a home, entered the victim’s vehicle and stabbed him.

The vehicle then drove to the detachment, where officers provided medical assistance before the victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The death is being investigated as a homicide. The 14-year-old suspect was arrested that night, charged with second-degree murder on February 25, and remains in custody. The investigation is ongoing, involving both MFNPS and RCMP Major Crime Services.
