RCMP said the shooting happened shortly after 11 a.m. Monday, September 21st on 50th Avenue near 47th Street.

Despite life-saving efforts, 22-year-old Nolan Whitstone was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said they believe the shooting was targeted.

Police said Randy Lysohirka was arrested after investigators received multiple tips from members of the public. Earlier Wednesday, RCMP had issued a warrant for his arrest and charged him with second-degree murder.

Lysohirka remains in custody and is expected to appear before a justice of the peace. A future court date has not yet been announced.
