Laval, Quebec 2026 Homicide Victim List
A 33-year-old man believed by police to have ties to a Montreal street gang was shot and killed outside his Laval residence on Thursday morning in what investigators suspect may be linked to ongoing organized crime tensions.
The victim, Hassan Haidar, was sitting in his vehicle outside his home in Laval’s Auteuil neighbourhood when gunfire erupted shortly after 8:30 a.m. Emergency responders and police officers attempted lifesaving measures at the scene before Haidar was rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Because investigators believe the killing may be connected to organized crime activity, the homicide investigation has been transferred from Laval police to the Sûreté du Québec.
According to police intelligence, Haidar was associated with the Rolling 90s, a gang based in Montreal’s west end. The group has been involved in an escalating conflict with a rival organization known as Arab Power. The feud has reportedly spilled onto social media and into correctional facilities, where several violent incidents have occurred in recent weeks.
The latest killing follows a series of high-profile attacks linked to ongoing gang rivalries. Earlier this year, Rolling 90s member Jamal Clarke Février, known as “Smokez,” was assaulted while incarcerated. More recently, alleged Arab Power leader Tarek Youssef Baydoun was killed at Donnacona Institution, while another gang figure, Faouzi Harmali of the Arabs with Attitude (AWA), was seriously attacked in prison.
Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in Haidar’s killing, and the investigation remains ongoing.
According to LaPresse, court and police records also indicate that Haidar attended a gathering in Laval in December that included several individuals believed to have connections to organized crime groups, including members of mafia and biker networks.
