Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report that a severely injured man had been dropped off at the local hospital at around 5:00 a.m. on October 25, 2025.

Officers quickly arrived and were informed that the 30-year-old man had succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators determined that an unidentified woman had driven the victim to the hospital before leaving. Police later found the vehicle parked outside a home on 5th Street SE and arrested a 29-year-old woman inside without incident.

She has been charged with manslaughter (not involving a firearm) and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing with assistance from Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services.
