Three people from Alberta have been charged with first-degree murder after human remains were discovered in a fire pit in the Kikino Metis Settlement in April 2024 Collins, a resident of Kikino

According to the RCMP, the remains were identified as 34-year-old Jeremy Collins, a resident of Kikino. Lac La Biche Mounties discovered the remains in a firepit during their investigation.

William Curtis White, 33, from Wabasca, and 26-year-old Amber Hope, from Kikino, were arrested on January 17, 2025 and charged with first-degree murder and indignity to human remains. A third suspect, 31-year-old Randall Louis Gadwa from Kehewin Cree Nation, was charged on January 22 with the same offenses. All three are in custody, with court appearances scheduled in February—White and Hope on February 3, and Gadwa on February 6.
