2 children found murdered in Wendake Quebec. A 30-year-old man turns himself in and is facing charges

The Sûreté du Québec responded to a call from local Wendake police on October 11th at approximately 2:00am after two boys were found deceased in a home on rue Chef Nicolas Vincent.

Ann Mathieu, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec said an autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.

The 30-year-old suspect turned himself in at the Quebec police station, near Victoria Park, and was sent to hospital to undergo an evaluation where he will be met by SQ investigators afterward. Police have not released the ages, or relationships between the victims and the suspect.

Update October 12th: The 30-year-old man has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in relation to the deaths of two boys ages 2 and 5. A publication ban on the names of the children and their mother as well As relationship to the accused has been issued. According to reports, court documents have identified the accused as Michaël Chicoine.
