Winnipeg police were called to the report of a deceased man at a residence in the 700 block of Sherburn Street on July 29th at approximately 4:30pm.

Police located 74-year-old James Monaghan of Winnipeg deceased at the scene and said the circumstances surrounding the incident are suspicious. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

The death of James Monaghan is the 30th Winnipeg homicide of 2022.
