On August 26th Winnipeg police were called to the report of shots fired in the 800 block of Aberdeen Avenue at approximately 8:45pm.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Mohammed Yonis Ali, 21, of Toronto, suffering from a gunshot wound. Ali was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on August 28th.

No arrests have been made and police ask that Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

On August 25, 2021, homicide detectives arrested Arturo Andres CARRASCO, 24, of Winnipeg and charged him with First Degree Murder. Carrasco remains in custody.

. On September 2, 2021, detectives arrested Nootin Kasipigositmikise FONTAINE, 25, of Victoria Beach, MB., and charged him with First Degree Murder.
