The 2023 Winnipeg Homicide Victim List is available here

Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Austin Street North on May 2nd at approximately 1:15 a.m.

On arrival, police located two men suffering from stabbing injuries. Both victims were transported to hospital, where Kevin James Wescoupe, 41 of Winnipeg, succumbed to his injuries. The 38-year-old victim has been upgraded to stable condition.

On May 15, two suspects were arrested without incident in the 600 block of St. Anne’s Road and at a residence in the 200 block of Machray Avenue.

Taylor Brandon Lee FLETT, 24, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

– Second Degree Murder

– Attempted Murder

Kevin Cook McKAY, 23, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

– Manslaughter

– Aggravated Assault

Both were detained in custody.
