Two Youths Found Dead in Saint John Home; 46-Year-Old Roman Kamyshnyy Charged

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, around 7:00 a.m., the Saint John Police Force responded to a 911 call at a home on Skaling Court in Saint John. Upon arriving, officers forced entry into the house and found two male youths, aged 10 and 17, dead.

They also found 46-year-old Roman Kamyshnyy inside, who was injured. Kamyshnyy was arrested and given first aid before being rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is currently in police custody.

Kamyshnyy is facing two counts of first-degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing, with support from the Saint John Police Forensic Identification Services, the Major Crime Unit, and the Family Protection Unit, in collaboration with the Coroner’s office.

Update: Kamyshnyy has been found unfit to stand trial, following a five-day psychiatric assessment, and has been ordered to undergo a further 30-day assessment.
