An 86-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of his 83-year-old wife in Cornwall, Ontario, on April 12, 2026.

It is alleged on April 12, 2026, the man unlawfully caused his spouse’s death, committing manslaughter. He is also alleged to have failed, without lawful excuse, to provide her with the necessaries of life while she was in necessitous circumstances, thereby endangering her life and permanently harming her health.

Following a lengthy investigation, police arrested and charged the man on Wednesday, October 14th. He has since been released from custody and is scheduled to return to court on November 3.
