Toronto police responded to the report of a shooting in the Danforth Road and Eglinton Avenue East area on August 12th at 3:36am.
police arrived to the apartment complex to find John Wheeler, 45, of Toronto suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Wheeler was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police are searching for three suspects who fled the scene in a dark coloured SUV. They are described as a white man, white woman and a black man. All are believed to be in their 20s. They were last seen wearing dark clothing and both men wore surgical masks.

Toronto police have released videos in an effort to identify and locate two suspects wanted in this incident:

Video #2 – Two suspects wanted in this murder.
Video #3 – This video shows the deceased, John Wheeler, 45, walking out of his building.
Video #4 – This video shows the suspect just before he shoots the victim.
Suspect #1 has been described as male in his 20’s, black, wearing dark clothing with white markings on the sleeves, a mask, and he was caring a firearm. Suspect #2 Male in his 20’s, white, dark clothing with white on the front, a mask, and he was caring a black duffel bag.

Update September 18th
Toronto police arrested Christopher Mitchell, 18, of Brampton, on September 16th and charged him with first-degree murder. Police believe Christopher Mitchell was in the company of at least two other individuals immediately, before and after the shooting.
