Surajdeep Singh found injured in Brampton dies in hospital – Homicide squad has taken carriage of the investigation

Emergency crews responded to the report of a “an unconscious male with lots of blood on him” in the Queen Mary Drive and Whispering Hills Gate area, near McLaughlin Road and Sandalwood Parkway West on August 13th at approximately 3:30pm.

Police and paramedics arrived to find 22-year-old Surajdeep Singh unconscious, on a pathway with obvious signs of trauma. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

“Surajdeep Singh was a young man with a bright future. He was simply trying to return to his residence from his place of worship, when he was the victim of an unprovoked attack that tragically took him away from his family” said Martin Ottaway, Superintendent in charge of Investigative Services. The Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau has taken over the investigation. Anyone with information is being asked to contact Peel police or Crime Stoppers.

Update August 14th
Peel police arrested a 16-year-old male youth on August 13th and charged him with Second Degree Murder.
