Update Charges Laid: Toronto Homicide #25 – Daniel Boima dies in hospital after being shot in a residential neighborhood in Scarborough

Toronto police responded to the report of a shooting in the Tower Drive and Brian Avenue area on May 2nd at approximately 10:42pm.

Police and paramedic arrived to find 23-year-old Daniel Boima suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police have not released any suspect information at this time, other than a suspect vehicle was seen fleeing the area just after the shooting.

Update June 19th
Toronto Police Service executed search warrants in Scarborough and Oshawa leading to the arrest of Joshua Johnson, 20, of Toronto. Johnson has been charged with second degree murder.

Update August 14th
Toronto Police Service executed a search warrant at a residential unit in Scarborough on August 12th. Police attended the residence and arrested the outstanding suspect, a 17-year-old male. The youth has been charged with second-degree murder.
