At approximately 1:50 a.m. On March 3rd, police and EMS responded to a 911 call from a residence in the 100 block of Belmont Drive S.W. Upon arrival, officers found a woman deceased at the scene.

A person was taken into custody for questioning, and authorities believe the incident to be targeted in nature. There is no ongoing risk to the public.

An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, has identified the victim as Anna BRAZHKO, 38, of Calgary. She died as a result of a homicide.

Investigators believe the ex-spouse of the victim broke into the residence she shared with a current partner and fatally assaulted her.

Anna’s ex-spouse, Mohamad Anass Mahmou AL-SAHLI, 47, is charged with one count of first-degree murder.
