On March 2, 2025, at 11:41 a.m., Bridgewater Police responded to a 911 call from a residence on Haven Drive, where they found an elderly woman injured, apparently from an assault with a weapon.

Despite efforts by Emergency Health Services, Patricia Annette Tanner, 83, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s husband was located in another room. The two had no prior reports of domestic violence.

Andrew Dawson Tanner, an 85-year-old Bridgewater resident, has been charged with First Degree Murder of his wife.

Andrew Dawson Tanner, 85, was taken to the hospital while in police custody. Police executed a search warrant at the residence to gather evidence, and forensic officers from Bridgewater and Truro processed the scene.

The cause of death is under investigation, with an autopsy pending. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 3, 2025.
