Saskatchewan 2026 Homicide Victim List

Saskatchewan RCMP have launched a homicide investigation after a man who was seriously injured during an assault on Muskowekwan First Nation died in hospital.

Police have identified the victim as Douglas Moise, 78, of Muskowekwan First Nation, a community located southeast of Saskatoon.

According to investigators, Punnichy RCMP responded to reports of a serious assault at a residence on the morning of June 10. Officers determined that one or more suspects had forced their way into a home and attacked Moise before fleeing the scene.

Moise was transported to hospital with severe injuries but later succumbed to those injuries. Following his death, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes unit assumed responsibility for the investigation, which is now being treated as a homicide.

Investigators believe the assault occurred sometime between the evening of June 9 and the morning of June 10.

Police are continuing to gather evidence and are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area during that timeframe, or anyone who had contact with Moise on June 9, to come forward. Information can be provided directly to RCMP or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

The investigation remains ongoing.
