Trencent Francois Identified as Victim in Winnipeg’s 17th Homicide of 2026; Precious Rayne Walker Charged

Winnipeg police are investigating a homicide after a 21-year-old man died following a violent incident at a residence in the city’s West End.

Shortly after 3 a.m. on June 13, 2026, officers with the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a serious incident at a home located in the 700 block of Toronto Street.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders transported him to hospital in critical condition, but despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries.

Police arrested an adult woman at the scene without further incident.

The Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit has since taken over the investigation and identified the victim as 21-year-old Trencent Francois, a member of Nelson House First Nation who was living in Winnipeg.

Authorities have charged 20-year-old Precious Rayne Walker with manslaughter. She remains in custody as the case proceeds through the court system.

Investigators continue to gather evidence and are asking anyone with information related to the incident to come forward. Members of the public can contact the Homicide Unit directly or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
