Cranbrook RCMP’s began investigating a motor vehicle accident along Mission Wasa Low Road in the early morning hours of July 2, 2023.

On arrival police located Anna Morigeau deceased in driver seat of the vehicle. Shortly after the discovery, a male was admitted into the East Kootenay Regional Hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening injury and believed to be in the same vehicle as Ms. Morigeau, but is being treated as a victim.

Investigators believe foul play was involved in her heath. A male was later taken into custody by Police, but released without criminal charges while the investigation continues. Morigeau’s cause of death will not be released at this point to protect the integrity of the investigation.
