Jennifer Jules Charged With Second-Degree Murder in Watson Lake, Yukon’s First Homicide of 2026

A 37-year-old Watson Lake woman has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of a man at a residence in the community.

On October 3, 2026, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Watson Lake RCMP and Emergency Medical Services were called to a residence after receiving a report of an injured man.

When officers arrived, they found the man and EMS crews began providing emergency life-saving treatment. Despite those efforts, the man was later pronounced deceased.

Police determined that the circumstances surrounding the death were suspicious and quickly identified a suspect. The Watson Lake RCMP located the suspect shortly afterward and made an arrest.

Jennifer Jules, 37, of Watson Lake, is facing a charge of second-degree murder. She is scheduled to appear in court in Whitehorse on October 15, 2026.

The Yukon Major Crimes Unit, along with additional RCMP resources, remains involved in the investigation.
