The Edmonton Police Service is investigated a possible homicide after the Thursday morning discovery of a male body in the North Saskatchewan River near Dawson Bridge.
Downtown Division patrol were alerted by a member of the public to a body lying an ice flow. No autopsy has been performed and police as of now have released no further information.
Along with another possible homicide that is under investigation by Edmonton Police, this would be the 31st homicide of 2020, compared to 28 homicides in all of 2019 in the city.
Update November 18th
An autopsy on Clifford Stamp, 38, was conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020. The cause of death is not being released at this time, however, the manner of death has been deemed a homicide.
Anyone who was in the area of Dawson Bridge and noted any suspicious activity between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on the morning of November 12th is asked to contact police at (780) 423-4567.
