Second suspect arrested – Police investigate a fatal 2020 shooting in Richmond Hill

York Regional Police were called to a residence on Leisure Lane in the area of Bathurst Street and Major Mackenzie Drive West in Richmond Hill on the report of a shooting at approximately 6:19pm on November 13th.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a man outside of a home suffering from gunshot wounds, without vitals. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Police said the victim’s identity will not be released until after the post-mortem.

Update November 16th
The victim has been identified as Amir Hossein HOMAYOUNI, also known as Danny, 35, of Richmond Hill.

Investigators have released additional images of a suspect vehicle that was observed in the area of Leisure Lane at the time of the shooting. The license plate that was on the vehicle was stolen and did not belong with the suspect vehicle.

Suspect Vehicle:

  • 2004 to 2008 Acura TL
  • Four door
  • Black
  • Described as being dusty and the tires appeared to have low pressure
  • Stolen Ontario licence plate: CBJL478

Uodate: On December 16, 2020, investigators executed a warrant in the City of Toronto and arrested the first suspect, Jaheim Claudius JOHNSON, 18, of Toronto. He was charged with First Degree Murder.

Update January 13th 2022:
On January 12th 2022, police arrested Guilherme LIMA, 19, of Toronto, and charged him with First Degree Murder.
