Penticton Woman Alexa Knodel, 21, Identified as Victim in Fatal Lakeshore Drive Shooting

Penticton RCMP responded to a report of a shooting on Saturday, June 7th, at an apartment building on the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with a fatal gunshot wound. The victim has been identified on social media as a 21-year-old Alexa Knodel from Penticton.

The RCMP’s Investigative Services team is now leading the homicide investigation. Police believe the incident was isolated and say there is no ongoing threat to public safety. One person was arrested at the scene but has since been released as the investigation continues.

Staff Sgt. Scott Hanry expressed condolences to Knodel’s loved ones and noted that victim services are supporting those affected. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help support Alexa’s family, especially her young son. As of Tuesday morning, $8500 had been raised toward a $20,000 goal.
