Ottawa Police and first responders responded to reports of shots fired outside the Infinity Convention Centre in the 2900 block of Gibford Dr at about 10:21 p.m. on September 2nd.
Police said two people were pronounced deceased and a number of people were injured. The deceased have been identified as Said Mohamed Ali, 26-years-old and Abdishakur Abdi-Dahir, 29-years-old, both from Toronto.
Ottawa police Media Relations said, “at this stage, there is no indication that this was a hate-motivated shooting.”
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and homicides. No suspect description is available at this time.
Investigators continue to seek any surveillance, doorbell or dashcam footage from residents, visitors and businesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5493.
