One dead and one injured in a Burnaby Shooting

Burnaby police were called to the Kensington highway exit at around 2:30 p.m on August 6th by one of two men in a vehicle who were shot.

On arrival police located the vehicle and the two male victims. One man died of his injuries and the driver was injured but expected to survive. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Meysam Zaki.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and there are no further risks to the public.

Cpl. Mike Kalanj said “It’s believed the shooting is tied to the Lower Mainland Gang Conflict.”
