Mila Barberi shot to death in broad daylight

York Regional Police responded to reports of a shooting on March 14th at approximately 4:12 pm, on Castor Ave. Two victims were located at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were rushed to hospital where the woman, 28 year old Mila Barberi was pronounced dead.  The 40 year old man who will not be identified had minor injuries and is expected to survive.

Police have released a description of the suspect:
– Male
– Approximately 6’2″ & 250lbs
– Dark jacket
– Covered face driving a dark coloured Jeep Grand Cherokee

Update September 20th 2018
Jabril Hassan Abdalla, 27, of Hamilton, has been arrested and charged with the murders of  Angelo Musitano and, Mila Barberi as well as the attempted murder of Saverio Serrano.

Canada-wide warrants have also been issued for Michael Graham Cudmore, 37, from Hamilton and Daniel Mario Tomassetti, 27, of Ancaster. All three individuals are facing the following charges:

  • First Degree Murder x2
  • Attempted Murder
  • Conspiracy to Commit Murder x3

Police believe that Michael Cudmore and Daniel Tomassetti have fled to Mexico.

Update September 16th
Michael Graham Cudmore the suspected shooter in the deaths of Mila Barberi and Angelo Musitano, was found dead in Mexico at the end of June 2020. Police said his body was recovered in a vehicle that was abandoned at the side of a rural road.

Investigators believe Cudmore had joined Daniele Ranieri, a person of interest in both murders, in Mexico. Ranieri was found murdered and his body left in a ditch in Mexico in March 2018.

Daniel Tomassetti of Ancaster is still wanted for both murders and his arrest warrant remains on file with Interpol.

Update May 25th 2021
Jabril Abdalla has been released on bail on May 21st, 2021, only after returning to jail in October 2020 after having his bail revoked by Ontario’s Court of Appeal. Abdalla was previously charged with  the murder of an innocent bystander Mila Barberi in Woodbridge in 2017 and Angelo Musitano in Waterdown.

According to Thespec.com, Abdalla “remains the only person ever held in custody in the murders. He was not the shooter, but is alleged to have been a party to the offences.”
