Peel police responded to a call for medical assistance at around 5:20 a.m. in a residential area near Formentera and Aquitaine avenues on March 2nd.

Police said the male victim died of an apparent gunshot wound at the sene. No other information has been made available at this time.

Update March 4th
The victim has been identified as Asad Ahmed Siddiqui, 27, of Mississauga.

Police said there is no suspect information available to share, however this is believed to be an isolated incident. Anyone with information on this incident, surveillance or dashcam footage, that may have captured the moments leading up to, during, or after the incident is asked to contact investigators at 905-453-2121 extension 3205.
