According to reports Christopher Lamarche had origionally been charged with second-degree murder for the killing of his son 6 month old Jarock Humeniuk in May 2017.
Police said the infant was found dead in an Edmonton home on May 28, 2017, where Christopher Lamarche lived with family.
After a lengthy investigation Police arrested Lamarche in Vancouver and charged him with Jarock’s death on July 5, 2019. Police said Humeniuk died of blunt-force trauma.
It is alleged that Lamarche told undercover officers that he strangled the infant, as well as other horrific things. Read The Edmonton Journal’s accounts of the courtroom here.
Justice Sterling Sanderman sentenced 27-year-old Christopher Lamarche to 12 1/2 years for manslaughter.
