Edmonton, Alberta 2026 Homicide Victim List

At approximately 1:45 p.m. on February 16, 2026, Edmonton Police were called to reports of a shooting near 109 Street and 166 Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male suffering from injuries. Officers, along with paramedics, immediately began lifesaving efforts.

The man was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Alinur Mohamed Mussa, 38.

According to the Edmonton Sun, Alinur Mohamed Mussa was previously cleared of allegations that he sparked a deadly shooting at a crowded Edmonton dance party in 2021, but had been scheduled to stand trial this May in connection with a fatal shooting at a lounge in 2022.

Police are asking anyone who may have dashcam or doorbell camera footage from the area — particularly west toward Castle Downs Road between noon and 2:30 p.m. — to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567.
