IHIT investigates a fatal shooting of a man in Halfmoon Bay BC

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has reported that a man was located suffering from gunshot wounds in the 8000-block of Birch Way, near the Sunshine Coast Highway in Halfmoon Bay at 3:38 a.m on June 22nd.

Despite lifesaving efforts the victim was pronounced at the scene. Investigators have not yet determined the identity of the deceased.

Two suspects were identified at scene and taken into custody. IHIT took conduct of the investigation and continues to work closely in partnership with the Sunshine Coast RCMP Detachment, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS). 

IHIT has identified the victim as 56-year old Gregory Roy Sullivan, of Sechelt, in hopes of advancing its investigation. 

“We’re asking anyone with information about this incident to please contact IHIT immediately,” says Const. Esther Tupper. “We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no continuing risk to public safety.”
