At approximately 2:50 a.m. on January 19, 2025, Halifax police responded to multiple reports of gunshots in the vicinity of Lahey Road and Clarence Street in Dartmouth.

On arrival, officers discovered two individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds. A 30-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were both rushed to the hospital where the man later succumbed to his injuries. The woman, though injured, is expected to survive as her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
