Edmonton police were called to the area of 75 Street and Mount Lawn Road NW on the report of an assault on October 2nd at approximately 11:00pm.
Police arrived to find 13-year-old Sierra Chalifoux-Thompson with serious injuries. The girl was treated and rushed to the hospital by paramedics, where she was pronounced deceased.
Investigators are looking to speak with any witnesses to the assault or anyone with information about the incident or people involved. Anyone with any information about this incident or what led up to it, is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567
Update October 6th
A female youth has since been charged with second-degree murder. As per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the accused cannot be named.
