The 2024 Brampton Homicide Victim List is available here

On the morning of April 5, 2024, 30-year-old Jevon Harris-Smith was shot multiple times outside his home, located near Finegan Circle and Sudeley Lane in Brampton. The suspects fled the scene in a red vehicle, which was later found to be stolen. Tragically, Harris-Smith died from his injuries. Investigators later confirmed that he was not the intended victim of the shooting.

On May 29, 2024, a Young Offender was taken into custody and charged with First Degree Murder.

After further investigation, authorities identified a second suspect, who was arrested on March 12, 2025. Dennis Mclean, a 24-year-old from Toronto, was charged with the following offenses:

• First Degree Murder
• Conspiracy to Obstruct Justice

Both suspects were held for bail hearings and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
