Death of Joëlle Lapointe in Quebec City house fire deemed a homicide

Quebec City police were alerted by firefighters of an unresponsive woman in a semi-detached home at 98 Johnny-Parent Boulevard on February 25th at around 2:30 a.m.

Fire crews located 42-year-old Joëlle Lapointe in the basement following a fire that they said was suspicious. She was pronounced at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death, however, the manner of death is said to be a homicide.
