Update: Charges laid & police are looking for information on a comforter found at the scene – Calgary police investigate the murder of Shawn Garry McCormack

Calgary police responded to the report of a body in an alley behind the 1100 block of Frontenac Avenue S.W on July 3rd at approximately 9:30 a.m.

On arrival police located Shawn Garry McCormack, 34, of Calgary deceased. His cause of death has not been released at this time.

Acting Staff Sergeant Lee Treit of the Calgary Police Homicide Unit said “We are seeking information from witnesses that can further our investigation.”

Update September 27th
Devon William SHEDRICK, 29, of Calgary, has been arrested and charged with one count of first-degree murder. He will appear in court today, Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022.

Police are looking for information about a comforter that was left at the scene, where McCORMACK’s body was located (pictured below). Investigators believe it to have significance to the investigation.

Update November 8th
Calgary Police are looking to speak with Justin Aaron CORNELL, 30, of Calgary who is believed to have information about the homicide. Investigators have made multiple attempts to locate him, which have been unsuccessful. CORNELL, pictured below, is described as 5’5” tall, 200 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.
