Peel Regional Police responded to a naturalized green space in the area of Nexus Avenue and Fogal Road on the report of a deceased woman on January 13th at approximately 5:49pm.

Investigators arrived to find Heeral Patel, a 28 year-old woman from Toronto deceased. Police said the death was suspicious and the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau took carriage of the investigation.

Investigators are encouraging the victim’s husband Rakeshbhai Patel, 36, to contact a lawyer and arrange to turn himself in.    

Update January 20th
Peel police said Rakeshbhai Patel was found deceased in the City of Toronto on January 17, 2020. His death is not being pursued as a criminal investigation.
