On February 17, 2025, around 6:20 a.m., a fight broke out during an after-hours party at a restaurant on 17 Avenue S.E.

The altercation began between two men and escalated, involving more people. During the chaos, a man trying to intervene was struck in the head. About 40 minutes later, the victim was taken to a home in Marlborough, and later picked up by a family member.

Several hours later, at 3:30 p.m., he was found unresponsive and taken to the hospital. The victim, identified as 24-year-old Adonai Tekle, passed away from his injuries on February 20. An autopsy confirmed his death, and one man has been arrested with charges pending. Police are seeking more information from the public.
