OPP said two 17-year-old boys from Guelph are facing second-degree murder charges following a fatal pedestrian collision that claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy last weekend.

Ontario Provincial Police and paramedics were called to Wellington Road 29, south of the Eramosa-Garafraxa Town Line, just after midnight on Spetember 19th. Investigators said the incident involved a minivan and a pedestrian.

According to Global News, the victim, identified by police as a 16-year-old from Puslinch Township, died following the collision.

Police said two 17-year-old Guelph youths were arrested Friday in connection with the incident. Both were taken into custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on Saturday.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision.
