Man Found Dead at Lake Manitoba First Nation; 23-Year-Old Arrested in Homicide Investigation

RCMP in Lundar responded to a report involving a missing 23-year-old man from Lake Manitoba First Nation on April 30, 2026, at 12:23 pm.

Around 1:34 p.m., police received new information suggesting the individual may have sustained serious, potentially life-threatening injuries, and his location remained unknown. In response, First Nation Safety Officers, local RCMP members, Police Dog Services, and a drone operator coordinated efforts in the community to search for him and gather details.

Just after 3:30 p.m., search teams located the man in a wooded area within Lake Manitoba First Nation. He was found deceased.

Investigators have classified the death as a homicide, and Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services has assumed responsibility for the case. As the investigation progressed, a 23-year-old man from the community was taken into custody, where he remains.
