Prince Albert police responded to a call about a suspicious person in the 500 block of 39th Street West, just before 9:00 a.m. on July 31. The caller indicated that someone may have found a deceased individual.
When officers arrived, they discovered a deceased man at the scene. Forensic teams from both the Prince Albert Police and the RCMP, along with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, were called in to assist with the investigation.
The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Lyle Ballantyne, and his family has been notified.
A 56-year-old man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the case. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
